"She never looked nice. She looked like art, and art wasn't supposed to look nice; it was supposed to make you feel something."
- Rainbow Rowell's Eleanor & Park
Once upon a time I didn't believe in myself, and that nearly cost me everything.
Since November 2021 I've set out to work towards improving my own mental health, even moving across the world to live alone in a small village where I really had to learn to love myself and my own company.
I think believing in yourself is one of the most radical things a woman can do. We are so often taught to be polite, to answer with a tone of uncertainty, and it's time to be confident, to be certain, and to take up space.
I grew up reading about powerful women in romantasy books, and I'm on a path to become one of them (unfortunately without the magical powers, but I definitely found my book boyfriend)
If that sounds like you, let's do it together, whether as a community or in partnership. Let's keep believing in ourselves!
After 2 years at uOttawa and a year in Spain, I'm finishing up my last few courses for Genetics at the University of Toronto, with plans to graduate in Spring 2026!
What comes after that... I'm not sure, which is why I'm posting about the journey of finding a STEM career on Instagram!
Mastering the romantasy main character vibes, feeding chipmunks, singing while cleaning my new condo, wearing gowns on a daily basis, all the usual things of course!
We are currently in the process of making ourselves the most whimsical first home together! If you have any suggestions please let me know!! These curtains were the first thing to go and will soon be gorgeous pink curtains!
